「フューチャーワールド」は、エプコットに入ってすぐに広がる、大規模アトラクションが建ち並ぶエリア。人気ライドはこのエリアに集まっています。宇宙飛行や空中散歩、実験農場など 最先端テクノロジーが体験できるアトラクションの数々。
その向こうに、湖を取り囲んで各国館が建つエリアが「ワールドショーケース」。午前11時からオープン。 各国館ではその国の名所紹介映画や名産品販売、自慢料理のレストラン、そしてその国らしい屋外エンターテイメントが行われるとのこと。ランチをいただきに、移動することにしました。
大きなラグーンの周りには、世界11ヵ国の伝統や文化が楽しめるパビリオンがあり、エッフェル塔やサンマルコ広場、ピラミッドに寺院etc‥と、世界各国 のメジャーな風景が再現され、食事やショッピングやショーも楽しめて、まるで本当に世界旅行に来たような気分でした！

Maelstrom
We got sucked into a veritable whirlpool of adventure on this Nordic trek through dark fjords and forests. We took our seat on a 10th-century-style warrior’s longship and explore the heritage of Norway with the seafarers of old. We were aware of treacherous trolls, enchanted swamps, marauding polar bears and deceptive currents as our boat changes direction on the stormy North Sea. At the end of the trip, we were braced by a thrilling 28-foot drop!
After we brushed with Maelstrom, we traveled back to the dark days of the Viking Age. Behold the national relic the Oseberg, one of the most well-preserved Viking ships in the world and a tangible link to Norway’s past. Then we saw how, today, the resilient Norwegian spirit born from challenge lives on: watch as oil-rig workers brave stormy seas, fisherman cast their nets and women walk picturesque cobblestone streets on their way home from market.
